Mille's 9th Birthday!!!

Well I pulled off what I thought might be the impossible...a surprise birthday party for Mille.  She had NO clue.  It was awesome!!  My dad kept she and Mac away while I set up and after several small white lies she came home to a house full of family and friends.  She was shocked to say the VERY least.  I didn't know how she would react, I thought she might scream, cry, or laugh but instead it was just utter shock.  About 25 minutes after the party started she was still saying,"Is this real?"  Thankfully Mille knew she was having a party so I didn't have to hide too much of the decor.  I did take a risk and baked the cupcakes and cake ahead of time and hid them in the oven.  Thank the Lord she didn't see it through the glass.  She wanted to do a donation party so she decided to have a Puppy Party.  The girls brought food and toys for all the sweet animals at Fuzzy Friends.  It's such a great feeling to know you're helping a organization out.  Mille has plenty of toys and stuff so I was so proud when she decided to give instead or receive.  I decorated with orange and pink and made fun puppy stuff.

The little doggy bags that I made had a cupcake in each one for the girls to take home.
I got this idea off of Pinterest of course!
I've made the girl's birthday cakes for the past few years.  Super simple but they love them.  This year I didn't get a pic of the inside but I used 2 shades of pink and 2 shades of orange.  So when you cut the cake It was layered with the color scheme.  I also started making the little cake toppers for the girls too. I try and make it towards the theme.  I want to go back and make one for every party theme so I can remember the parties we've had but that requires lots of spare time. Hmmmm maybe this summer!
The little flowers on the side make me happy.  I found them at WalMart but they are so pretty!  They work perfectly in Mille's new room too so now I get to enjoy them longer.  They're fake by the way. :o)  They are poppies and a peonies.
I made bone shape cookies and actually finally got a chance to make Royal icing and pipe them on.  They didn't turn out 100% but fairly good for a 1st timer.  I also made dog shapes but they didn't keep their shape well.
Store shortbread cookies in the shape of Scottie dogs.
Puppy Chow mix, yummy!
I filled my apothecary jars with little treats.  One had Swedish fish in them and we called them "Kitty Vitamins" another had goldfish in it with the title "Cat Treats" and the last had Scooby graham crackers bones in them and we called them "Dog Biscuits"
Made a birthday banner for Miss Mille
I made puppy and kitty ears for all of the girls.  When Mille saw hers she asked if she could have a birthday hat on hers as well. :o)
Outside decor.  Target had awesome gift bags that were the color scheme so I filled them with balloons.
This was the pet adoption table.  I made little collars and leashes using ribbon.  They then adopted animals and were given an adoption paper.
I found these giant adorable dogs at Target.  I'm a weirdo and believe in "meant to be moments" there were several lucky finds for this party and "Daisy & Petunia" were one of them.  They were the last 2 dogs and were only $15!!!!  I didn't know what I was going to do with them but I knew Mille and Mac were going to LOVE them.  This is Daisy and it's Mille's puppy.
Meet Petunia she is now Mac's puppy.  The girls cuddle them every night and they are a staple at the end of the bed.  They are about as big as the girls.
Here are the adoption papers.  Another meant to be thing.  I wanted a cute adoption printout and found this precious orange and pink one online!!!
I love fresh flowers so anytime I can find an excuse to buy them I will.
This is a bad pic but these flowers were really pretty!!!
Leashes and collars.  The collars had a little bell and a tag that I wrote the pet's name on.
All the little babies waiting to be adopted.  I bought these at HEB.  I bought a few at a time so I didn't look like a freak.  My final purchase I had to buy more than a few.  Stacy the cashier I always go to b/c she's sweet asked what the heck I was doing!  It did look kind of weird to have milk, eggs, chicken, and 6 stuffed animals.
I bought little pinwheels for the planters.
Cute little welcome sign with a kitty on it.
The wind was kind of strong on party day.  I ended up taking off the bags of balloons, they kept falling over or scooting close to each other.
Here is another MTBM(meant to be moment) I wanted the kids to eat off of a cat or dog bowl.  Well I couldn't find any that were orange or pink that didn't cost less than $5.  I just happened to walk by these at the end of an aisle!!  Not only were they orange and much cuter than I had found before but they were $1!!!!!  I decided to add a bigg google eye and a cute little pink bow.
Again another MTBM I found these little cuties at WalMart for $.97.  They are cute little pig squeaky toys for puppies. The little orange feather balls are for kittens.
Mille's friends rushing out at her.  She had just finished dance and had no clue. She literally just stared at everybody for about 5 minutes.  Kind actually looked at everybody like they were a bunch of freaks! I guess I now know what her shocked face looks like!
Still looking at everybody like they're crazy.
She changed into her orange and pink and picked out her new baby, Firey.  He is a dalmation and is very cute!!
Baby Mac in her kitty ears with her baby Fluffy(I think that's her name)
Whew...9 candles is a lot!
Thankfully Neta Kaye Penson and Cara Fisher were there to help with the festivities.  By chance Cara had emailed me a little while before the party and said she missed the girls and to let her know if they had anything going on that she could come to.  I told her about the surprise and she was all aboard!  Neta Kaye was excited too.  She was my inside contact to make sure Mille had no clue!  LOVE South Bosque teachers!!!!!  Almost emailed Pam and Glorianna and made it a "Mille's Awesome Teachers" get together.
We had an awesome obstacle course.  We had it that entire day and until noon of the next day.  The girls and their friends had a blast on it.  I love Astro Jump, awesome people!!
The birthday girl opening some goodies from friends.
Her friends Piper stayed over and helped make it a special day.  She wanted to have a slumber party but I wasn't quite up for that yet.  Maybe next year. :o)  Piper gave Mille a big fun slip in slide.
A fun furry C journal.
This girl loves Littlest Pet Shop animals.
Her tiny 6 layered birthday cake.  She wanted a strawberry cake so of course mama had to make that happen.
Making a big wish!!!
Hoping it comes true!
My baby is 9!!!!  This was the first pic I took of her on her actual bday.  I always tell her that smile could light the world!!!
Me trying to give birthday spankings and take a picture.
Here is her birthday surprise pancakes.  Sadly Mille loves breakfast but only around 10:00.  Thankfully I made enough to send for lunch! :o)
Showing those 9 fingers.
Mille and her big sis Mac.
Mac gave her a new itouch case, it's a turtle one of Mille's favorite animals!
Mille talking to Grampy.  He always calls the girls the morning of their birthday.  Normally he plays an instrument or something.  I'll never forget when he came over and rode with me to get Mac.  He hid in the back of my car and started playing the trumpet.  You never know what he's going to do. :o)
Onto other festivities...Mille's recycled hat day.  This was her design and the fact she didn't win is crazy!  She looked fabulous!
Our new friends, Brownie(he was brown when we first saw him) Sherbert and Jesse.  They hang out on our back patio and the cats try to eat them.  I chase the cats off and act like they are my new pet.  Wow if they counted that would mean we have 11 pets!  I saved a bird today too.  Feeling very Mother Earth-ish!
Mac hanging with the collection of stuffed dogs that the girls own.  Oh yes and there is a precious real life dog in there too. Grang just stepped in their and actually laid his head down on the little cocker spaniel to his right.  Precious!!!
