It's been an busy end of the year!

WE have been very busy around here.  I promise before I knew it the end of school was here and fun and stress began!  Here are some pics of all the fun we've had in the past 2 weeks!  I can't believe next year I will have a 4th grader and a 2nd grader!  Yikes!!!  Both have had an incredible year.  Mille is reading like a crazy lady and LOVES Math, she does it even when she doesn't have homework and then she gets a stack of books and reads them to her "friends" (imaginary class- it's SO cute!)  Mac has come so far I can't even explain it in words!!  Her teachers this year were above fabulous.  Her homeroom teacher Mrs. Lassiter who is also her Reading teacher taught her to love writing, spelling , and even coding paragraphs! I know, CRAZY!! :o) Her Science and Social Studies teacher Mrs. Minard, has taught her so much in her 2 favorite subjects.  Mac LOVES Science and has grown to love History as well.  They've learned all about environments and even got to make products to sell in a Market day event to teach about goods and services.  So fun!  Then her Math teacher, Mrs. Penson has taught my baby to soar in Math.  I love Mrs. Penson because she is compassionate and dedicated.  She made my baby girl love Math, and this is a girl who not only disliked Math but thought she was really bad at it.  She gave Mac the encouragement and love to do a great job this year.  Mac even got commended on both Math and Reading on TAKS!  WooHoo! I told Mac that this is a prime example of how hard work pays off.  She really struggled at the beginning of the year but now she totally gets it, but that only happened with AWESOME teachers and very hard work!  Way to go Cherry girls, Mom and Dad are so proud!!!!!

This is a pic of the girls on recycled hat day.

Mac made her hat from a recycled magazine.  She won 1st place in 3rd grade, way to go!
Mille made hers from a Target bag (shocker that I had one of those at the house!) and stuff from the recycle trash can.  She even made little pics of what makes a healthy planet.  Her hat had a sign that said,"Recipe for a Healthy Planet" it look like a chefs hat. She got honorable mention.

Onto the next project!  This was what Mac and her sweet friend Isabel did for Market Day.  This is their sign, "A Jar Full of Cherries" was the title of their store.  These girls were so cute planning.  They had their own ideas and are VERY creative.
They used a picture frame to show what they were selling.  They had so much fun using my computer.
They made cute little signs for the goods.  They also used fabric from past parties to spice up their table.
Here is a close of picture of the "twinkles" which were chocolate dipped Twinkies with sprinkles.  The funny this is Mac misspelled Twinkies but they decided they like Twinkles instead, I did too!
Stress Balls
Mac and I made stress balls using a balloon and then we filled some with flour and some with rice.  Then we used cupcake liners , baggies, and ribbon to make it even cuter.
Onto the next fun thing!  3rd grade got to have an Ice Cream Sundae Party. Such a cute idea, they had to learn their multiplication facts for 0-12 (they had a few weeks to get everything checked off for the party).  Once they finished their 0's they got the bowl checked off. 1's they got a spoon, 2's a napkin, 3's a scoop of vanilla, etc... I went up to help scoop ice cream, it was so fun to watch the kids.  It was super fun because ALL the 3rd graders were in the cafeteria so Mac got to see friends from other classes.
Onto the next fun day (I told you, we've been busy!!!  We're still going too!)  This is a class pic of Mac's precious class.  They had their end of school party earlier then the other grades, the weather was AWESOME! Silly 3rd graders!
Mac is in the body boppers (I think that's what they're called)  She has so much fun!
Yep that's her, I was crying from laughing so hard when she fell down.  Once you're down somebody has to help you up because you can't do it yourself. A smile never left her face, she was so happy.
We were lucky and got to see sweet Mille!!!  She had recess at the same time of the party so she got to watch sis a little. Sweet sisters and Mac's sweet friend Isabel!
2 of Mac's sweet friends Isabel and Sydney, they all loved the snowcones!  For the past 2 years we have asked Kona Ice Truck to come to the parties and each child gets a snowcone and then they get to put the syrup on.  They love this because they can mix and put as much as they want.  Plus it's the good kind of ice, crushed really good.  The kids LOVE this part of the party. Tomorrow is Mille's End of School Party and I will probably buy one because it's going to be a scorcher tomorrow!!!

We gave each teacher a gift card but we also made them stationary.  What teacher couldn't use thank you notes?!
This is the class gift that we are giving Mac's teacher Mrs. Lassiter.  Another parent collected some money from a few students and then used the money to get some gift cards.  We decided on a "Date Night Basket" she gave me the gift cards and then I assembled the basket with goodies.
She is getting a nice gift card to Diamond Backs so I put in a couple of wine glasses with "diamond" paper.
Then she is getting a gift card to Hollywood Theatre, so I put it in a popcorn bag with StarBurst, M&M's, and Twizzlers.  Then for a yummy dessert she is getting a gift card to 3 Spoons!!!  Love that yummy place.  I stuck some shredded tissue paper in a cup from 3 Spoons and then put the gift card in  and closed it up with a bag and cute ribbon. The large paper behind the popcorn bag is an envelope with sweet thank you notes from parents and students.  I think Mrs. Lassiter is going to LOVE it!!!

We've been busy and there's more to come, Mille's End of Year Party, Pam's gift that I'm currently working on, dance recitals, swimming at the pool.......
